NOOK is an Android-based platform eBook reader device, Developed by Barnes & Noble and intended to compete with the Amazon Kindle line of EBooks readers. The NOOK name was influenced by reading nooks(secluded spot, corners). It is one of the well-known EReader devices, comes with different options which almost fit with anyone’s budget.
Some cool features set this device apart. One of the best features is that Barnes and Noble allow Nook users to read the entire contents of any eBook available in stores for free for one hour a day.
Unlike the Kindle devices, Even the NOOK eReader device got equipped with E-Ink (Electronic Ink) technology in a monochrome matte screen display that provides crystal clear text and lesser glare for lengthy reading with less strain on the eyes. In addition to reading EBooks, NOOK devices provide full-colour LCD screens for watching videos. Nook eReader devices have built-in Wi-Fi capabilities for downloading books, running apps, and Web browsing. Some of the high-end Nook devices offer touch screen support.
